Fair is Fair

The Great Minnesota get-together. Aka: the State Fair. It’s pretty much the best thing after sliced bread. The food is amazing-my favorite is the french fries. Of course we decided we would go to the Marine booth, and I wanted to go to the Ford booth (last year we got free tee’s!) & the art building. I love the state fair. There’s so much to see, so it’s hard to do in just a few hours.

I really want to go back one more time before it closes!
School started today. I’m a little bit sad, but fall is always a happy time. :) Happy Monday!

a picture is worth a thousand words

Here it is, the end of summer.
I have to say, I am ready for school to be starting. A new year, with new things to learn. (please don’t be too hard geometry!) Anywho, this has been a great summer. I took a trip to the UK & Paris, got my permit and took a trip to the Duluth & the cabin.
I’m so excited for what Fall brings, such as my aunt and uncles famous Fall hayride, baking and wearing leggings. (When I was about 10 I swore I’d never be as “uncool”, as say, a mom & wear leggings. Well. Looks like I’m about to be “uncool”. ;)

Remember When

After not really taking too many photos lately, (which have been mostly photos of people) today I grabbed the D70 and started taking some shots, first inside, but then my mom & I took a walk as the sun was getting lower in the sky. Not the best for lighting, but I still got some satisfactory photos. :)
Lacey, Theo & Millie were ecstatic that we were outside with them- taking them for a walkie.
I love Sunday’s. Not doing too much, but it’s been a great day. Yesterday consisted of a parade, a family reunion, & Captain America drive-in. It’s been a fab weekend.

School starts next week. How is that possible? Where have you gone, summer?
I’m going to enjoy these last few days of freedom before embarking on my next year of high school.

Chunky Muskie

After my Dad & Emily left for home so Emily could go to Cali, we (my Mom, Daniel & I) went into town looking for something to do. It’s pretty touristy, so we didn’t spend much time downtown. We walked around for a while, then we had dinner at the most fabulous restaurant ever, the Angry Minnow. It has to be one of my favorites if not my most favorite. After that, we made a quick pit-stop into West’s ice cream for some of the worlds BEST ice cream. Chunky Muskie- it’s banana flavored ice cream with walnuts and chocolate chips mixed in. The name is strange, but once you have that first bite, you will be hooked, (ha ha) even if you don’t normally like banana.
We made our way to play mini golf to finish off the night. Even though we were missing the rest of the family, we still had a great evening.

I was a little excited. Now, we asked if they had chunky muskie in stock for just an ice cream cone, but they were out. Lucky for us, they did have them in bulk! So we bought that. It lasted us for the rest of the week & it cost less then 3 cones! Win/win.

Duluth

We’re back from our vaca! We went to our cabin for a week like we do every summer. There’s about a million photos (why does that always happen?) so I’m going to post abut the day trip we took to Duluth. If you live around the area you should go! It’s for sure one of my favsies towns! We started the day off right with lunch and then we toured this mansion, that isn’t actually in Duluth, it’s in Superior. But they’re neighbors, so it’s all good. Then we went to my favorite part of this annual trip- the lake. I love sitting on the rocks watching the water. It’s so relaxing. Then we went downtown to the Blue Heron, a really adorable kitchen store. Definitely a place I would go again. We met up with my aunt & uncle who live in Duluth, & headed to the beach for a while. By this time we were noticing dark clouds gathering on the horizon so my uncle and Daniel (he wanted to ride on the motorcycle so my aunt rode in the car with us) hurried home so they wouldn’t get wet. We concluded the day with dinner at Sarah’s Table, an organic restaurant. It started pouring as we drove back to the cabin and there were storm warnings everywhere. It took us a while to get back there, but thank goodness, we made it safe and sound. It was a great day brimming with fun memories. See you next summer, Duluth!

Good Time

I’m off to the cabin for the week, yes, a whole week! No WiFi, either.
I have to say, I’m rather excited. This week has been full of fun business. I pretty much love summer.
On Wednesday Anna came over (way overdue!) and we chilled on the hammock & then got ice cream. Yum! :)
